Holly Martin, OT

Occupational Therapist 


Holly received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2013 at the University of Northumbria, Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K. Holly has worked in a variety of hospital/community settings throughout her placement and work experience. Her passion and love for working with children to reach their full potential led her to specialise in paediatrics. Holly has worked with pre-school and school aged children in mainstream and specialist education. Before moving to Grand Cayman Holly was the lead Occupational Therapist in the specialist school in Durham, UK where she had experience providing postural management plans and equipment to a range of neuro/physical development conditions. Holly has also provided extensive assessment and intervention for the Autism spectrum provision within the school.

Holly has experience creating and implementing a wide range of individual and group therapy programme/interventions for example sensory motor group, life skills, gross and fine motor skill groups, Alert programme and handwriting. Holly has also facilitated parent training sessions, as well as school based training sessions for teachers and teaching assistants around sensory difficulties and the impact on function.

Holly is a certified Cognitive Orientation to Occupational Performance (CO-OP) Therapist which is a unique therapeutic intervention approach for children who have difficulties performing motor based skills.

Holly recognizes there should be a dialogue between children and the services they engage in, in order to bring about positive change and improvements. Holly promotes positive reinforcement, is interactive, and is focused on the needs and interests of the children, young people and families that she works with.
